As a result of the recent attack discovered by the team, the DAO has decided to release an emergency update, where the team will require your help to create a smooth transition.
Version 1.7.0 of the Polis Core wallet was be released today.
It includes fixes for chain synchronization and introduces a new block difficulty algorithm to prevent stake grinding.
Prior to the official release, the team will be using an unreleased version to perform the hard fork at an undisclosed block between blocks 774500–775500 (Tuesday January 26th). The reason the block is purposefully undisclosed to the community is to prevent the grinder from updating and having his coins influence the main chain after the fork.
Once the chain is controlled and stable the release will be created with a checkpoint that guarantees users will be able to sync to the fork chain. The team will continue to monitor the chain and eventually will request exchanges and partners to enable Polis within their services.
What does this mean for me?
You should avoid performing any transaction within the aforementioned blocks (774500–775500), as the transaction will likely be forked out of the chain, meaning it simply won’t exist once you update to v1.7.0. You should avoid receiving any payment from someone you don’t trust within those blocks. Fees will likely get raised around fork time to discourage transactions. This is temporal and they will be lowered in the main chain after fork.
We are glad to announce that the fork was carried out successfully at height 774911.
This update introduces a lot of fixes for sync issues (goodbye bootstraps!).
We added a new difficulty calculation algorithm.
Plus some new checkpoints and and other measures to ensure you end up on the right chain. To update please head to:

You can't perform that action at this time. You signed in with another tab or window. You signed out in another tab or…
If you have any sort of issue syncing to the current block, a resync from scratch will be able to get you to sync. All other sorts of syncing issues have been solved by the update.
How to sync from scratch?
With your wallet stopped, delete the block, chainstate, llmq, and evodb folders and open your wallet again. You should start downloading every block.
Trouble finding peers?
If you have trouble finding peers, make sure you are not staking until you are synced, or at least past block 774911, and add the following nodes to your polis.conf file. The list will be updated as more nodes are active.
